Rotordynamics-Seal Research is at the forefront of component testing technology. The staff at RSR has designed, developed, and proven more bearing, seal, and damper rotordynamic test rigs that any other organization in the world. Our extensive and existing infrastructure of testing hardware and software enables us to rapidly investigate any type of bearing, seal, damper, or other similar component (e.g., clutch, gear, etc.).
Both lubricated (e.g., squeeze film) and dry dampers and damping materials can be tested at temperatures ranging from room temperature to 600°C. Facility can be easily modified to accommodate a variety of test fluids and operating conditions including cryogenic. Rotordynamic measurements include damper transfer function and if applicable, stiffness, damping, and added mass. All applicable static and dynamic operating parameters can be measured (e.g. speed, temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.). Contact RSR for requirements for your specific application.
The bearing and seal test facility is very flexible and can accommodate a wide variety of test article geometries (up to 18 inches in diameter), operating conditions (pressures to 500 psi, speeds to 120,000 rpm), and fluids (liquids and gases). Measurements include operating parameters (e.g., speed, temperature, pressure, flow rate, etc.), static load, torque, and rotordynamic characteristics. Contact RSR for requirements for your specific application.
